In ihrer bislang größten, eigens für die kestnergesellschaft entwickelten Installation Compeshitstem the new deal between slave and mothership, sind beispielsweise gebrauchte T-Shirts ein Bestandteil des Werks: das Wasser, das zu deren Reinigung gebraucht wird, fließt später durch Schläuche in an Aquarien erinnernde Gefäße und wird durch Filtersysteme für den neuerlichen Gebrauch gereinigt. Das Kunstwerk, das teils einem großen Labor, teils einer improvisiert anmutenden Manufaktur gleicht, kommt so fast ohne Zuführung neuer Rohstoffe aus. Dennoch sind für die New Yorker Künstlerin Konsumkritik und Appelle zum ökologischen Handeln eher zweitrangig und ihre Konstruktionen eher pragmatischer denn ideologischer Natur. Ihre Arbeiten stehen somit der Arte Povera näher als dem künstlerischen Aktivismus.
