Hardcover. Condizione: gut. 2004. 1914 transportierten die deutschen Länderbahnen die größte Angriffsarmee der Geschichte an die Westgrenze. Wenig später waren Belgien und weite Teile Nordfrankreichs in deutscher Hand, doch war der Krieg schon nach der Marneschlacht kaum mehr zu gewinnen. 1915/16 folgten Eroberungen auf dem Balk…an und im Osten. Deutsche Soldaten und Eisenbahner mussten die eroberten Streckennetze wiederaufbauen und ergänzen und auf vielen Spurweiten den Bahnbetrieb führen. Direkt hinter den Fronten wurden 600 mm-Feldbahnen gefahrvoll errichtet und betrieben. Die kaum ermessbaren Leistungen waren jedoch vergebens: Die Kräfteverhältnisse zwischen den verfeindeten Bündnissen gaben den in Berlin und Wien propagierten Eroberungszielen keine realistische Erfolgsaussicht. Die letzte große Bewährungsprobe deutscher Eisenbahnorganisationen galt dem Rückzug 1918 In deutscher Sprache. 399 pages. 30,2 x 21,2 x 2,8 cm.
