The study shows that three out of five respondents were found to have good attitude and slightly greater than half of the study participants had good knowledge on community based education practices. Their knowledge and attitude on a certain aspects of university and college students' community based education practices were still poor. Educational status, occupation, relationship of the respondent in his family and monthly income were affecting significantly the knowledge of community on community based education practices. Occupation and Kebele of the respondents has been identified as having significant impact on the attitude of the community members concerning community based education practices. 52 pp. Englisch.
