Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - Michael is named five times in the Bible - three times in Daniel, once in Jude, and once in Revelation. Five is the Bible's number of grace, and it is fitting, because every one of Michael's five appearances is an act of grace toward the people of God. Let us walk through all five, because this book will stand on these five pillars and on nothing invented by man.The first appearance is Daniel 10:13. Daniel had prayed and fasted for twenty-one days, and when the answering angel finally arrived, he explained the delay: 'The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me.' Here we learn that there is an invisible government behind the visible governments of this world - spiritual 'princes' standing behind earthly empires - and that Michael is one of the chief princes, a breaker of blockades, the one who is sent in when an answer to prayer is being resisted. The second appearance is Daniel 10:21, where the angel says, 'There is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.' Two words in that verse should make every child of God sit up straight: your prince. Michael is assigned. He is attached to the covenant people of God. Heaven has a designated defender for the seed of Abraham, and his name is Michael. The third appearance is Daniel 12:1, and it is the mountain peak of this whole book: 'And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.' We will spend an entire chapter on this verse. For now, mark three things: Michael stands up; unmatched trouble comes; and everyone written in the book is delivered. The fourth appearance is Jude verse 9: 'Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.' Here is the character of Michael. Even face to face with Satan himself, over the body of Moses, the mightiest angel does not fight with insults and does not fight in his own name. He fights with delegated authority: 'The Lord rebuke thee.' Power under discipline - that is Michael. The fifth appearance is Revelation 12:7: 'And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not.' This is Michael the field commander, leading the armies of heaven in the war that ends with the accuser cast down. Five appearances, one portrait: a helper in delayed answers, an assigned prince over God's people, the one who stands up in the last time, a disciplined warrior who fights in the Lord's name, and the general of the victory over the dragon. Everything else we will say in this book grows out of these five roots.…
