Cohen. In remarkable condition for its age, Book is fragile (requiring soft handling), mildly and uniformly age toned and, except for light bumping to text block corners that results in page creasing, and what appears to be burn marks (small one at fore edge affecting ffep and more significant one affecting Cover top front joint and text pages through p172), is otherwise free of markings and other blemishes. As a result he produced one of the most entertaining adventure stories of all time and created, in Don Quixote and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, two of the greatest characters in fiction. By 1615, when he died ?old, a soldier, a gentleman and poor?, his book was already famous in both French & English. J.M.Cohen?s translation presents a great work in lively, vigorous and modern English.* This is a NEAR VERY GOOD copy with some shelf wear & slight ageing reducing it to GD+*. n.
