Bound in a later full dark red morroco with unusual gilt vignette to the upper cover of a man astride a fish in river scene with angling bag with initials of J.W. on the bag. To rear cover gilt vignette of a mermaid with hook and line seated on a shell. Some darkening to the board edges. A detailed early guide to angling, "Generally attributed to Robert Howlett.
