Relieved by appropriate anecdotes, and illustrated with woodcuts. Author unknown. For it's age, in reasonably good condition showing overall signs of wear. brown leather (?) boards with a black shield shaped title to the front. Sadly part of the spine cover missing - might be where the title was. Torn at the spine end. Corners are turned and a couple of exterior stains. Dulled gilt page edges. Previous owners label inside front end paper; W A Marsden University College Oxford 1897 and a gift inscription to preliminary page. Heavy foxing in places. An interesting little book.
