One of several revised Taylor editions of this classic work; as often, this is a working copy with signs of use. This is the fifth edition, although it is not numbered as such; Taylor published a 4th edition in 1805 and a 6th edition in 1814.

Enlarged version of this notable work by Nicholson.The owner, one William Annis of Sproxton in Leicestershire, appears to have been practicising his very best handwriting on the endpapers, a nice personal touch.

First published in 1792, this was also Nicholson's first book and illustrated with plates engraved by his own hand. It is notable also for containing an original method for the construction of groins and niches of complex, double curved forms. Uncut edges with usual toning, small stain to the head of plate xii (not affecting image) but overall a very clean copy.

Neatly rebacked with the original spine re-laid. Library stamp on the title page and a few leaves toned. A sound and usable copy.
