This group of documents relates to candidates for positions on the board of the Honourable East India Company. The candidates include Edward Parry (1796), Sir John Jackson (1803), George Millett (1805), William Wigram (1809), Robert Williams (1809), Sir J. H. Pelly (1810 - Pelly later served as Governor of the Hudson's Bay Company), and Robert Clerk (1810-12). The collection also comprises various memos canvassing support from Thomas Adams of Alnwick, composed on behalf of Lord Castlereagh, Mr. Vansittart, James Pattison, and Mr. Sturges Bourne.
