Light rubbing to extremities, heavier to head and foot of spine which has resulted in minor loss of leather to the head. Cut to head of upper and lower joints, not serious or damaging to integrity. Name (possibly A Eugene Tollemarche), dated 23.9.96 (century not stated but probably 1796) on free end paper which also has the stamp of Laystone House, Buntingford. Foxing to end papers. Text-block remains tight and in excellent condition.
