Full Calf. Condizione: Fine. First Edition. First Edition. 8vo; xii, 392pp. Beautifully bound by Fitterer to period style in full speckled calf, spine in six compartments between raised bands ruled in gilt, original olive-green lettering piece gilt. An excellent example, the pages clean, bright, and free of foxing. Lowndes 2380. Sheridan was an Irish stage actor, educator (and, incidentally, godson of Jonathan Swift and father of the playwright Richard Brinsley Sheridan), as well as a major proponent of the elocution movement.
