This biography of Vietnamese revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh was written by Charles Fenn, a former U.S. intelligence officer who had direct contact with Ho during WWII. The book offers a personal and political profile of Ho CHi Minh, contaxtualizing his role in Vietnam's independence from French colonial rule, his leadershio of North Vietnam, and his complex legacy as a nationalist and communist. Fenn's work attempts to strike a balanced view, offering both biographical insight and geopolitical analysis during the height of the Cold War and Vietnam War.
