Bristol librarian and historian George Pryce enumerates the various ecclesiastical buildings in Bristol, and discusses their history and architectural features in this interesting volume. Illustrated with forty two plates by Pryce. Signed by the author to the dedication page. Inscription reads, 'the author. By William Gols', with a signature beneath. Prior owner's name label to the front paste down, 'Charles White' from Horfield, Bristol. Sticker from Bristol booksellers 'William George's Sons Ltd' to the front paste down. In the publisher's original brown cloth binding. Externally, sound. Lightly rubbed to the boards and the spine, with some moderate wear to the extremities. The spine is missing a slither of cloth to head and tail of the spine. The front and rear joints have nearly failed due to tears in the cloth. To the front joint, a small amount of cloth remains connected near the head of the spine, whilst the cloth is connected to both the head and tail of the spine at the rear joint. The front and rear hinges have failed. Internally, generally firmly bound. The title page and frontispiece are disbound, and the first few pages are loose. As a result of the failed hinge, the front endpaper and frontispiece are disbound but present. Pages are age-toned and foxed throughout. Good Only. book.
