Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray is a legendary figure in the world of chemistry. He was the father of an Indian School of Chemistry. A successful teacher at Presidency College and Calcutta University he was also the founder of the Indian Chemical Society. He is widely known for his thoughts on environment and science. He translated his theoretical knowledge into practice in the Bengal Chemical and Pharmaceutical works which he founded to inspire his countrymen and especially youth to undertake Swadeshi Enterprise.
