Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Books are still among the most important cultural achievements of humanity. Their invention was as important as the Internet: for the first time, a mass transfer of information became possible. Education, science, research, but also entertainment was based on a new revolutionary basis. Books are changing society until today. The technical possibilities of mass printing led to a radical increase in titles in the 18th and 19th centuries. Nevertheless, the conditions were still very different than today: Who wrote a book at that time, often wrote a life's work. This is reflected in the high quality of old books.Unfortunately, books age. Paper is not made for eternity. Therefore, we have made it our mission to preserve the book of knowledge of humanity and to make old books available in high quality at low prices 488 pp. Englisch.

Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. Early Printing. 8vo. A beautiful Early Printing of one of the Austrian-born economist's most important works in the uncommon dust jacket, quite beautiful in this case. Hayek won the 1974 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, sharing the award with Sweden's Gunnar Myrdal for "their pioneering work in the theory of money and economic fluctuations and for their penetrating analysis of the interdependence of economic, social and institutional phenomena." Blue cloth, with gilt titling to spine. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Dust jacket Near Fine, with the 40s price intact, though a mild discoloration surrounding the price, presumably from a previous sticker which may have been placed over it in the past. Mild edge wear to dust jacket. Presents handsomely in archival mylar. A lovely edition of an important 20th-centuty Economics treatise.

Prima edizione
First edition in English. 8vo (220 x 145mm). xxxi, [1], 454, [2] pp. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt (faint partial offsetting to endpapers, otherwise internally clean; some light wear to tips of spine and corners, an excellent copy). London, Macmillan and Co. The culmination of Hayek's work on capital theory and business cycle theory during the 1930s, being in his own words, a 'highly abstract study of a problem of pure economic theory' that attempts to establish the 'fundamentals' that must serve 'more concrete work on the processes which we observe in the real world' (p. v). Critical reception of the book was somewhat muted, stemming in part from accusations of obfuscation, but also owing to the overwhelming influence of the Keynesian revolution, a consensus that would be dramatically challenged with the publication of Hayek's The Road to Serfdom three years later.
