Moreover, the current CAS Check-in…, 9-line and situation update briefs are nearly identical to the ones used by Raven, Sidewinder, Misty and Stormy FACs. The tactics employed in Vietnam are still in use today: wheel tactics, racetrack patterns, mark placement, flareship, and gunship operations are familiar to the reader. Additionally, the present dilemma of a non-contiguous, non-linear battlespace plagued airspace and fire support planners in Vietnam. Their solution foreshadows current Kill Box procedures as well as the Strike, Coordination and Reconnaissance (SCAR) mission. Unfortunately, many of the air-ground operations lessons learned during the conflict were placed in the same category of much of the war itself: a memory best forgotten.This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Curiously OCLC does cite another 1841 edition (of matching pagination) by Tuscaloosa printer H. Olcott but fails to locate any copies so perhaps its a bibliographic ghost of a past cataloging error. Poet, orator, journalist, lawyer, and jurist, Alexander Beaufort Meek (1814-1865) was among the first students to enroll at the University of Alabama and, in a highly successful and broad career, served as Alabama Attorney General, probate judge for Tuscaloosa County, assistant secretary of the United States Treasury, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama, associate editor of the Mobile Register newspaper, and was a member of the Alabama Legislature. Meeks visited his brother in Columbus, Mississippi in January 1864 and resided in the city until his passing on November 1, 1865 thereafter being buried in the city's renowned Friendship Cemetery.

Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the exhibition, "John Baldessari: New Work", held at the CEPA Gallery Buffalo in 1981. The latter (and this accompanying volume) was part of FOUR BY THREE, four exhibitions and concurrent artist residencies by three artists, including Baldessari, sponsored by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the CEPA Gallery, and The Hallwalls. Presents John Baldessari's "Close-Cropped Tales". Film stills reproduced as photographs, appropriated, and re-presented by the artist as progressively bizarre croppings. What he calls our attention to (because we typically ignore it) and finally matters are the borders rather than the images contained within: Three-Sided Tales (or a triangle), Four-Sided Tales (a square). And so on as things get bizarrely complicated: Five-Sided, Six-Sided, Seven-Sided, and Eight-Sided. Every film must be contained within the four sides of a square or rectangle, and whether it's at the theater, on TV, video disc, streaming platform, or cell phone. Baldessari's acute point is that only art, and not just the Conceptual kind, can subvert and transcend the unavoidable borders imposed by the moving image. Trust the angle, not the tale. An absolute "must-have" title for John Baldessari collectors. This copy is very prominently and beautifully signed in black pen-marker on the title page by John Baldessari. It is signed directly on the page itself, not on a tipped-in page. This title is a contemporary art and photography classic. This is one of very few such signed copies of the First Edition/First Printing still available online and despite its imperfection (browning and slight wear on the softcovers) is still in fine condition overall: Every single page is clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: Baldessari did NOT sign most copies of the book. Signed copies of any book by him are rare because he is an infrequent signer at best. A rare signed copy thus. 27 plates.
