Kohn Pedersen Fox was formed in 1976 in New York, and rapidly made its mark on international architecture with buildings such as 333 Wacker Drive in Chicago (1979-1983) and DG Bank Headquarters in Frankfurt (1986-1993). They went on to become one of the most creative and productive offices worldwide and have been a strong presence in Europe since the opening of the KPF London office in 1988.
The focus of the book is the European work of the practice which has gained prominence in recent years with a number of imaginative and technically advanced buildings. This volume presents 19 selected buildings.
Amongst the works included are Thames Court in London, World Trade Center in Amsterdam, Rothermere American Institute in Oxford, Endesa Headquarters in Madrid, House of Representatives in Cyprus, ADIA Headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Parkhaven Tower in Rotterdam, the KBB project in Dusseldorf and Provinciehuis in The Hague. These designs are characterised by a commitment to technical excellence, operational efficiency and high ecological standards.
