Hoffmann, Johann (* 1803 Wien - 1865 ebenda). Österreichischer Sänger (Tenor) und Theaterleiter. 1826 Debüt in der Titelrolle der Oper "Der Klausner am wüsten Berge" am Kärntnertortheater. Hier als Tenor große Erfolge in den Rollen: Titus, Othello, Fra Diavolo und Oberon. Als Sänger hatte er Engagements in folgenden Städten: Aachen (1829), Berlin (1829), St. Petersburg (1835) und Riga (1838). Von 1840 bis 1844 übernahm er die Direktion des dortigen Theaters. Von 1846 bis 1852 Leiter des Ständetheaters in Prag und von 1852 bis 1855 des Nationaltheaters in Frankfurt am Main. 1855 Leiter des Theaters in der Josefstadt, das er bis 1865 leitete.
