The calligraphic text is printed in red and black, decorative initials in red and gold. "Reproduced from a calligraphic manuscript written and illuminated by Sangorski & Sutcliffe." A collection of quatrains composed in the eleventh century by Persian poet and philosopher Omar Khayyam, it is among the most popular poems of all time. An excellent example showing slight expected bowing to vellum boards, internally clean and bright. Signed by Author(s).

Top edge in gold gilt and other edges deckled. Interior pages are clean and bright. This is#117 of 550 limited copies, signed by F. Sangorski and G. Sutcliffe. Folio size. Large, ornate peacock design imprinted in gold on the front board. Floral design with fine condition, brown Moroccan title label on spine. End papers have Byzantine-like designs in color. Paper is hand-made and thick. Sangoski and Sutcliffe's artistry is very apparent with their intricate hand lettering and original decorations. Also, reproductions of richly colored paintings (11 in total) by Ewan Geddes with ornately designed frames in gold and other bright colors. Letters printed primarily in black with keywords highlighted in red.The first letters of stanzas are ornately designed in red and blue and other colors with delicate, gold-designed backgrounds. All in all, an elegantly executed book, a solid representation of the high aestheticism of turn-of-the-twentieth century facsimiles of modern illuminated manuscripts.
