1978-1979 Bel ensemble de 7 lettres autographes, un télégramme et un bref mot manuscrit du comédien et metteur en scène Alain Cuny (1908-1994), à la comédienne Laurence Bourdil née en 1943. À travers les sept lettres se dessine une relation tourmentée, entre amour et amitié.C'est après un passage aux Beaux-arts et le début d'une… carrière de décorateur qu'Alain Cuny se tournant vers le théâtre, devient élève de Charles Dullin. En 1939, la guerre interrompt le projet presque signé d'un engagement à la Comédie française ; cet épisode restera le grand regret de sa vie !Née en décembre 1943, Laurence Bourdil est la fille de la poétesse spécialiste de chants Berbères Taos Amrouche (1913-1976) et du peintre André Bourdil (1911-1982). Elle se fit un nom au théâtre où elle brilla notamment aux côtés de Peter Brook et de Patrice Chéreau.L'échange épistolaire situé entre le 17 juillet 1978 et septembre 1979, dévoile l'amitié tumultueuse qui les liait. - L.A.S., 2 pages 210 x 297, datée du lundi 17 juillet 78.Dans cette lettre Alain Cuny parle beaucoup de son médiocre état de santé, qui freine considérablement ses ambitions professionnelles : « Je suis retenu à Paris pour le déménagement de la rue de B. et par les quelques soins réparant les contusions dues à l'intubation imprécautionneuse des anesthesistes, et je n'en finis pas ; le terme de juillet m'est présenté et les camionneurs ne m'ont pas encore fixé la date où ils viendront ensuite je partirai pour Saint-Malo où je mettrai en vente l'appartement qui m'y appartient ; enfin, le déplacement prévu à Rome, au cours duquel je voulais m'arrêter à Saint-Michel est annulé ; c'est à dire que je refuse le peu qui m'est offert dans un film auquel je n'avais accepté de participer que de principe et avant d'avoir pris connaissance du scénario.
