Jaque…s-Dalcroze (Wien 1865-1950 Genf), von Sainte-Croix, ab 1925 Ehrenbürger von Genf. ?Jaques-Dalcroze besuchte ab 1873 die Schulen, das Konservatorium und die Universität in Genf, studierte dann bei Anton Bruckner in Wien sowie bei Léo Delibes und Gabriel Fauré in Paris [.]. Ab 1892 war Jaques-Dalcroze Professor für Musiktheorie am Genfer Konservatorium und entwickelte die sog. rhythmische Gymnastik, mit der die Gestalt und das Wesen der Musik erlebt und dadurch gleichzeitig alle seelisch-schöpferischen Kräfte gelöst und gesteigert werden sollten. [.] 1911 gründete er in Hellerau bei Dresden die Bildungsanstalt für Musik und Rhythmus [.]. 1914 kehrte Jaques-Dalcroze nach Genf zurück, um sein Festspiel ?La fête de juin? zur 100-Jahr-Feier des Beitritts Genfs zur Eidgenossenschaft zu dirigieren.
