The selections include The Lousiad, 'An Heroi-Comic Poem' inspired by an incident when His Majesty discovered, as he sat at table, a louse upon his plate. In the subsequent contretemps, the cooks, scullions etc. had to be shaved, and the unfortunate louse was condemned to die.
