Reconstruction Task Force 4 was deployed to Afghanistan in 2008 as part of Operation Slipper - Australia's military contribution to Afghanistan. Their area of operation was Uruzgan Province in central Afghanistan. Their mission was to help bring stability and security to to Afghan people, through projects that support good governance and stable communities. Their work focused on construction tasks, especially the creation of bases for Afghan and coalition forces, as well as smaller engineering tasks such as trade training and project supervision.
