The original stiff wraps a…re in excellent condition, hardly aged, though there is a wrinkle to the spine which appears to be from publishing. The black lettering remains bright there and on the cover. [Please see my four images of this book.] The interior is bright, crisp and clean. "[T]he Gospel of Thomas is a valuable fresh source document of early Christian gnosticism. § [A] contrast between the beliefs and attitudes of the gnostic sects and those of the Great Church is seen here perhaps more clearly than in the more abstract gnostic treatises. [We both] tend to return different answers to the difficult question of Thomas' direct dependence on the Synoptic Gospels [and] hope that the juxtaposition of our different viewpoints, together with the reasons why we hold them, may be of assistance to others in the resolution of this difficult problem."---from the Preface.
