Humphreys (lightly spotted & waterstained in margin); original blue cloth, paper label (rubbed), short splits in hinges but a sound uncut copy. A non-juring 17thC. divine, Ken's reputation was revived by the Oxford movement. Anderdon's detailed biography also prints Ken's 'Morning, Evening & Midnight' hymns with music. Keynes p.75 notes Whittingham's use of old-face types without identifying the author, presumably because his copy lacked the half-title which gives 'The River Dove' as 'By the same Author'.
