Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the impact of the Public Debt on the lives of the British people across the 18th and 19th centuries. It offers a fresh perspective on a subject that has received surprisingly little attention in economic history, despite the ever-increasing burden of debt today. The author offers a deep exploration of a time when Britain faced a debt crisis that threatened to cripple its economy and crush the poor. The book reveals how Britain's leaders averted disaster by implementing a series of policies that increased productivity and wages while simultaneously reducing the deficit. In a period where the gap between rich and poor continues to widen and financial worries weigh heavy on peoples' minds, the author's insights are timely and essential reading for economists, historians, and anyone concerned about the pressing issue of sovereign debt. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
