Da: Rulon-Miller Books (ABAA / ILAB), St. Paul, MN, U.S.A.
8vo, pp. 142; folding table, tables and illustrations in the text; very good, sound, and clean copy in original pictorial wrappers. This copy inscribed by Böðvarsson on the half-title to the Russian-American linguist, etymologist, and poet Anatoly Liberman. A textbook on general and Icelandic phonetics. A book with this title was first published in 1953, but as it was long out-of-print, and much new material had come to light in the intervening years, so an entirely new edition was called for in 1975. Böðvarsson (1924-1992) was an Icelandic linguist and dictionary editor. He was the editor-in-chief and author of the Icelandic dictionary for schools and the public, the first dictionary of its kind, written in 1957-63, and published by the Cultural Fund in 1963, and he was co-founder of the Reykjavík Esperanto Society. Five in OCLC, none in the U.S.
