Aggiungi al carrello24 x 20cm. Ring-binder folder, 128pp. Includes number of hole-punched extra pages held in wraparound strip, and letter, newspaper clipping, a number of Artangel publicity flyers and brochures. This publication constitutes a complete list of artist's worldly possessions, drawings, photographs, a collage of research materials from the YBA art installation at C&A store at Marble Arch, London, Feb. 10-Feb. 24, 2001. Landy's items were progressively disassembled, destroyed, and recycled over the course of two weeks. "Through the 1990s, Landy's work has explored different aspects of contemporary consumerism. Over three years in the making, BREAK DOWN is the most ambitious - and most extreme - project to date. Michael Landy has made an inventory of his life - of every single thing he owns. Every piece of furniture, every record, every article of clothing, every book, every gadget, every work of art. Over 5000 individual items have been catalogued in Landy's existential audit. And all of them are broken down to the basic materials they are made of. Nothing but powder is left. This artist's book part manual, part inventory, part research file includes the complete list of his possessions, drawings, photographs, a collage of research materials and an interview with Julian Stallabrass, as well as a section of photographs from the actual installation in Oxford Street in London, February 2001."425.00.

Aggiungi al carrello27 x 16cm. Paperback in glassine sleeve, 99pp. With bi-fold colophon notes. Commissioned by Artangel and Park Avenue Armory. This is one of the rarer books published with this title (and in similar formats) containing redacted reproductions of visa applications relating to the professional mourners performing in the artist's project, constituting an immersive artist's book rather than a practical monograph. This publication marked the culmination of seven years' work with professional mourners, anthropologists, and historians. Audiences visiting 'An Occupation of Loss' descended into a half-built, subterranean, concrete opera-house where professional mourners all simultaneously broadcast their lamentations, enacting rituals of grief from around the world. Their sonic mourning is performed in recitations that include northern Albanian laments, which seek to excavate "uncried words"; Venezuelan laments, which safeguard the soul's passage to the Milky Way; Greek Epirotic laments, which bind a life with its afterlife; and Yezidi laments, which map a topography of displacement and exile. The glassine wrap is quite chipped. Otherwise good condition.

Aggiungi al carrelloNear Fine in very slightly rubbed publishers decorated wrappers. 1st edition. Illustrated throughout. In 1993, Rachel Whiteread created a work of art which was hailed as one of the greatest public sculptures made by an English artist in the twentieth century. Whiteread's concrete and plaster cast of an entire house in the East End of London provoked equal measures of praise, wonder and controversy. Her monumental sculpture, on view when she won the Turner Prize, attracted some 3,000 visitors a day before it was demolished in January 1994. This book, made in collaboration with the Artangel Trust, provides a unique chronicle of this remarkable work. Photographs and working drawings chart the house's life from construction to demolition. Six key figures in art journalism contribute their thought-provokingly diverse responses: in turn, the book surveys the whole spectrum of critical reaction to the work. ISBN 0714834599.

Aggiungi al carrello0. Küba. Catalogue. Cornerhouse, London u.a.O. 2004/05. Einl. von Bill Horrigan. 176 S. mit 114 farb. Abb., Spiralbindung mit Samtumschlag. ANTIQUARISCH. Zustand sehr gut This publication accompanies his 40 monitor installation Küba. The installation is named after the island republic, which is one of the most notorious ghettoes in Istanbul. The multiple screen installation is a portrait of 40 residents of Kba, a neighbourhood defined by both a physical map and a state of mind. The book adapts the form of a photo album with semi transparent glacine paper separating stills from the stories. The hardback casing and ring binding are reminiscent of traditional photo albums, with foil blocked text on the cover.
