Tight hardcover book in fair condition. 8vo. 335pp. Brown leather boards with incised design of Rebecca riding on a camel that is painted or applied gold in the center of the front board with fancy incised frame all around the outside edge. The same incised design & frame are on the back board without gold. The entire backstrip has fancy gold designs & lettering. The tops of the pages are dyed bright gold. Book is tight with no loose pages. The boards have some wear, soiling, & edgewear with deeply bumped corners. The front board's gold illustration & lettering are bright & colorful. The backstrip has deep edgewear on the top & bottom. The gold illustrations & lettering is bright. A previous owner glued small 1800s newspaper articles on inside of the front & back boards some of which is crossed out. The endpapers also have some soiling & discoloration. Early inscription on pre-page in ink. The frontispiece has some moisture staining around the edges. The titlepage has name written close to top. As noted above, there are no missing pages.
