Spine ends and corners are slightly bumped. There are a few air-bubbles in the cloth on spine. Rear board is partly faded and has a few small scrape marks. Fine. Austin Priestman (born 1883) was a British physician, health official, and author who made significant contributions to public health and school medicine in England in the early 20th century. In addition to his medical career, he was also active as a poet and children's book author. Illustrated throughout with plates and text drawings by Cecile Walton (1891-1956), Scottish painter, illustrator and sculptor. She and her husband Eric were two of the moving spirits of the Edinburgh chapter of the Symbolist movement in the early 20th century.
