Das in dieser Form bislang einmalige Forschungsprojekt "Gesellschaft gemeinsam gestalten - Islamische Vereinigungen als Partner in Baden-Württemberg" wurde von der Akademie des Diözese Rottenburg-Stuttgart mit Förderung der Robert Bosch Stiftung von Februar 2006 bis März 2008 durchgeführt. Erstmals wurden in Baden-Württemberg Dialoge zwischen islamischen Vereinigungen, Kommunen und Kirchen ausfindig gemacht und wissenschaftlich ausgewertet. Auf der Basis schriftlicher und mündlicher Befragungen ist so ein breites Panorama des Dialogs entstanden.
