QUADRIO, di Ponte in Valtellina; gesuita, poi però, a causa delle "malignissime persecuzioni" dei confratelli nel corso di un suo primo tentativo di storia della letteratura italiana (opera di 10 anni di lavoro), riuscì infine nel 1749 a farsi prete secolare; poligrafo, scrisse di medicina, di botanica, uno scomparso poema eroicomico, e "Il mondo lunare scoperto", e dissertazioni sulla VALTELLINA. A Modena all'Estense interagì coll'allora bibliotecario Muratori, a Milano con Pietro Verri. PINCHETTI, letterato e poeta, si laureò con una tesi sul Quadrio, di cui questo saggio costituisce una parte. Censito come estratto alla sola Biblioteca nazionale Braidense di Milano.
