THOMAS verdanke. Der Punkt über der Mätrka na ist deutlich zu erkennen, und wenn wir nicht annehmen wollen, daß er einen Anusvära repräsentiert, müssen wir ihn auf eine Zufälligkeit zurückführen. Hr. J. P. VOGEL, der a. a. 0. Kusanaputro liest, schreibt mir: "It is true that there is a depression which might be taken for an unusvära, but this part of the stone is damaged to such an extent that it mäy just as well be casual." Wenn wir annehmen, daß sich in der neuentdeckten Inschrift von Mat zufällig Kusanam statt Kusana findet, sind wir gezwungen, an eine ganze Reihe ähnlicher Zufälligkeiten (vgl. K.E, S. 85) zu glauben, was offenbar unzulässig ist. Ich halte es daher für gesichert, daß in der Vorlage des Steinmetzen Kusanam putr\o\ gestanden hat. Man braucht diesen Ausdruck nur mit gewissen Yüeh-shih-Titeln zu vergleichen, die in meinem genannten Artikel aufgezählt werden, um in dem Wort Kusanam einen präkritischen Genitiv Pluralis zu erkennen und Kusanam putr[o] durch "Sproß der Kusas" zu übersetzen. Als Genitiv Pluralis von Kusa ist auch das auf gewissen Münzen'" Käniskas erscheinende KO[MNO zu erklären, und es unterliegt keinem Zweifel (vgl. K. R. S. 85), daß diese Buchstaben dazu bestimmt waren, das Wort Kusanu wiederzugeben. Die "-Stämme der nordarischen Sprache, wie gyasta, bilden aber den Genitiv Pluralis auf anu (gyastänu), während ihr Nominativ Singularis auf i (gyasti) ausgeht. Da ferner die Tatsache, daß sieh in den Titeln der Yüeh-shih-Herrscher Spuren des Nordarischen feststellen lassen, von verschiedenen Seiten anerkannt worden ist, sind wir in der Lage, Kusanu für einen nordarischen Genitiv pluralis vom Stamm Kusa zu erklären (644/645) Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 550.…

Vorsitzender der Livländischen Ritterschaft, entstammt dem Adelsgeschlecht der von Fölkersahm. Er ging 1829 zum Studium nach Berlin und kam dort unter Hegels Einfluss. 1838 erwarb er das Gut Rujen-Großhof in Livland. 1839 trat er in den Landtag ein. Fölkersahm ist bekannt als der "Mirabeau von Vidzeme", da er im Gegensatz zu den mehrheitlich konservativen deutsch-baltischen Großgrundbesitzern die Abschaffung der Zwangsarbeit vorantrieb, die an Stelle der früheren Leibeigenschaft praktiziert wurde. Auf seinem Gut Rujen-Großhof führte er zuerst die Bauernbefreiung durch, die dann auf sein Bestreben 1847 als Agrar- und Bauernverordnung in ganz Livland durchgeführt und zwei Jahre später von Zar Nikolaus I. sanktioniert wurde.
