Identifies illustrators and number of portraits and illustrations. Contains some annotations on content, details of subscription, limited, signed editions, translators, etc. Also has an historical sketch of the Riverside Press, the Atlantic Monthly and the evolution of titlepage devices used by Houghton Mifflin. Full title: "A Portrait Catalogue of the Books Published by Houghton, Mifflin and Company with a Sketch of the Firm, Brief Descriptions of the Various Departments, and Some Account of the Origin and Character of the Literary Enterprises Undertaken."
