Rieber, étudiant en philosophie, de son ami Aug. Laib), figure sur les deux gardes. Les gardes et les plats intérieurs sont soigneusement annotés en allemand et en français à l'encre ancienne (poèmes, biographie de l'auteur, etc.), une dizaine de pages d'annotations d'experts, certaines avec de légères taches d'encre. État général propre et bien conservé. -- Zwei originale Halblederbände mit Rückentitel und Bandnummer in goldener Prägung auf jeweils 2 Schildern, insgesamt leicht berieben. LXX, 340 / 359 Seiten, Band 1 mit Frontispiz (Bildnis Boileau) sowie einigen weiteren Tafeln mit Illustrationen. Auf beiden Vorsätzen findet sich eine alte Widmung in Tinte, datiert 1875 (J. Rieber, stud. Phil. von seinem Freunde Aug. Laib). Vorsätze und Innendeckel wurden mit alter Tinte sauber in deutsch und französisch beschrieben (Gedichte, über den Autor etc.), etwa 10 Seiten mit sachkundigen Anmerkungen am Text, vereinzelt etwas tintenfleckig.
