Produced by 3cubed founded in 2006 by Rosie Simmons, a design led ceramics company based in West Sussex. Plate dimensions: 16cm diameter x 5cm deep. In fine unused condition. Plate Note: The Scottish National Portrait Gallery Opened in 1889, It is one of Edinburgh's most outstanding buildings. In December 2011 the gallery re-opened following a period of dramatic renovation. To help mark the union of old and new, Timorous Beasties were commissioned to create a collection of home accessories inspired by some of the gallery s most iconic portraits, including Robert Burns, Bonnie Prince Charlie, Queen Anne, Mary Queen of Scots, and James VI. This ceramic plate is one of the commissioned items for sale in the Gallery's shop. 3cubed founder Rosie Simmons is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art. She has an MA with distinction in Ceramic Design for Industry from Staffordshire University and spent five years as a surface pattern designer for Wedgwood. She then settled in London to do freelance consultancy work for major retail and interior companies before founding her own company.
