The first and second series contain a remarkable body of original research and primary source material by many leading contemporary antiquaries, including W. G. D. Fletcher, Askew Roberts, Rev. W. A. Illustrated with ten plates. Volume XI. Illustrated with four plates, three monochrome photographic. Volume XII. Illustrated with three facsimile signatures. Collated, incomplete. Lacking only two plates from Volume VIII of the second series. In a half calf binding with marbled paper boards.Externally, smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities, resulting in minor loss to calf and paper. Slight rubbing to boards with one or two light scuff marks. Slight discolouration to spines, more so to spines of the second series. Internally, generally firmly bound. Some occasional light strain to volumes in second series. The fifth plate in Vol III and two plates from Vol VII of the second series and the first plate in Vol IV of the first are fully detached, but present. Series two incomplete with Vol VIII of second series lacking two plates. Pages bright and clean with one or two light spots and handling marks to first and last few leaves. Slightly more spotting to second series. Very slight soiling to first and last few leaves of volume XI. Slight marking to the gutter of the plate facing pp. 326 on Vol I of the second series, not affecting the image. Very Good. None Stated (illustratore). book.
