Introuvable catalogue d'exposition illustré regroupant la quintessence de la production graphique du moment.En octobre 1894, Edward Bella, imprimeur et fabricant de papier, organisait la première grande exposition d'affiches d'art françaises et anglaises. S'appuyant en partie sur sa collection personnelle, il loua à dessein le Royal Aquarium, prestigieuse salle d'exposition londonienne qui jouxtait l'Abbaye de Westminster. A cette occasion fut édité ce catalogue qui constitue une véritable curiosité : illustré de hors-texte uniquement réservés aux artistes français, elle comprend également deux pages de prix marqués.Si les valeurs sûres telles que Chéret et Grasset étaient les mieux représentées, les cimaises firent la part belle à l'avant-garde de l'époque : Bonnard, Vallotton, Anquetin, Vuillard et son audacieuse affiche pour la Liqueur Bécane. Sont également présents Josso et Ibels avec l'affiche anarchiste pour l'Escarmouche de DarienAccompagné de Steinlen qui affichait son Lait pur stérilisé dont le catalogue mentionne "droit d'auteur à vendre". Mais c'est à Toulouse-Lautrec que reviennent les honneurs, douze de ses affiches furent présentées, soit la totalité de sa production de l'époque réunie en une véritable rétrospective (3 ans auparavant Lautrec réalisait sa première affiche). Quatre de ses uvres sont reproduites dans le catalogue qui ouvre par Confetti fraîchement imprimée par Edward Bella, l'organisateur pour la fabrique de confetti BellaDeux pages indiquent les prix des 255 affiches exposées, elles réservent bien des surprises.
