Suite de 36 planches numérotées et d'un plan de Paris en frontispice, dessinés et lithographiés par Philippe Benoist (1813-ca 1905) et Louis-Julien Jacottet (1806-1880) représentant les principaux monuments de Paris et ses environs vers 1840 dont le château et les jardins de Versailles, l'Arc de triomphe, la Madeleine, la place Vendôme, la Bourse, le boulevard des Italiens, les Tuileries, le Panthéon, Le Louvre, Notre Dame, la Concorde etc. Une première suite gravée conjointement par Benoist et Jacottet avait paru sous le titre Promenade dans Paris et ses environs (1838).
