Cet art princier, propre aux Thraces méridionaux auxquels appartenaient les Gètes de Valachie, d?Olthénie et de Moldavie est d?origine autochtone et dérive de la civilisation de l?art hallstattiens; on peut en saisir les caractères essentiels en reprenant l?ensemble des documents actuellement connus et déterminer, avec les apports étrangers, la part importante des traditions locales.
