Es handelt sich wohl um die 2., als solche nicht ausgewiesene Auflage dieses ersten Antikriegsbuchs der Weimarer Republik (die erste soll als Privatdruck 1924 erschienen sein), das von Kurt Hiller und Kurt Tucholsky hoch gelobt wurd…e. Beide Auflagen wurden nach einem durch alle Instanzen gehenden Prozeß wegen Gotteslästerung und Unzucht verboten, die 3. (1926) und 4. Auflage (1929) konnten nur noch zensiert, d. h. um zwei Texte und eine Illustration gekürzt erscheinen. Unser unzensiertes, vollständiges Exemplar hat ein zeitgenössisches Exlibris, sonst ist es ungewöhnlich gut erhalten und weist allenfalls geringe Gebrauchsspuren auf. Berlit, Rüdiger (illustratore).
