La reine-mère le nomma son prédicateur ordinaire ; et Madame, femme de Gaston d'Orléans, le prit pour confesseur, ce qui ne l'empêcha pas de se déclarer contre la Fronde et de subir quelques mois de Bastille. Il était prieur du couvent du Mans en 1672, mais rentra encore à Paris où il mourut premier régent au couvent de Saint-Jacques, conseiller et prédicateur du roi, le 19 juillet 1674 (Alphonse Angot, Dictionnaire historique, topographique et biographique de la Mayenne).
