Conclude l'opera un completo indice.Secondo Partington il termine "mineralogia" ha qui, un uso moderno della parola, i significati sono perÚ intimamente filosofici e appartengono in maniera trasversale a molte discipline, dalla religione, (in quanto il Cesi affermava che lo studio della mineralogia aiutava a capire la Bibbia, argomento ardito) a medicina, pittura, agricoltura, alchimia. Ad esempio, nel descrivere la generazione dei minerali, segue da vicino Aristotele, ma cita anche Teofrasto, Avicenna, Alberto Magno, Agricola, Gregorius Reisch, Plinio, Boodt, Francis Rueus, Marbodio, la Bibbia, e numerosi Padri della Chiesa. Continuando nella sua dissertazione, l'autore ritiene che il Sole, la Luna e le stelle influenzino il mondo sotterraneo dei minerali e dei metalli, e che le gemme abbiano miracolosi poteri curativi.
