Ko van Dijk kreeg eindelijk weer eens een rol waarin zijn formidabele mogelijkheden volledig tot hun recht kwamen. Vooral de scènes met Myra Ward, die van Dylans hoogst begaafde vrouw Caitlin een bijzonder menselijk, knap op de rand van vulgariteit balancerend portret geeft, werden groots en imponerend toneel. Meester-vertaler Bert Voeten had voor een briljant-dichterlijke Nederlandse tekst gezorgd. Hans van den Bergh, Het Parool. Een persoonlijke triomf van Ko van Dijk, die de tragische ondergang voelbaar maakte van een door zichzelf en de samenleving misbruikt genie. Jan Spierdijk, De Telegraaf. Kleinerend spektakel. (.)
