Mezza pelle coeva con titolo al dorso e ripetuto manoscritto su tassello cartaceo ad esso applicato. 11 tavole fuori testo, la maggior parte delle quali ripiegate, e 44 figure xilografiche n.t. Non conservati i piatti della brossura originale all''interno. Legatura un poco stanca, interno fresco seppur rifilato in testa ma buon esemplare purtroppo orfano, come spesso avviene, della Pianta della Città di Torino Antica e Moderna coi progettati ingrandimenti. Prima edizione di questa accurata guida di Torino e dei suoi dintorni, ricca di notizie topografiche, storico-artistiche, statistiche, economiche, amministrative, etc. Vi si tratta anche dei caffé, degli alberghi, della gastronomia, del dialetto, delle canzoni del Brofferio, delle feste, degli ordini cavallereschi, dell'istruzione, della vita culturale e scientifica, dei culti, delle opere pie, delle carceri, dei cimiteri, delle ferrovie, delle poste, dei mercati, dei telegrafi, etc. L'appendice, dovuta al Bertini, afferisce ai principali Stabilimenti d'acque salutari nei Regii Stati di Terraferma. Delle tavole f.t., sono di particolare interesse la litografia seppiata all'antiporta con veduta di Torino dal Monte dai Cappuccini, egualmente incisa dal Salussolia. Le altre vedute f.t. (dovute a Finazzi, Bugni, Batti, Charlot, Vaiani; la maggior parte delle incisioni è tuttavia anonima) raffigurano i Giardini Pubblici dei Ripari, lo scalone di Palazzo Madama, la Camera dei Deputati di Palazzo Carignano (poi primo Parlamento dell'Italia unita), una sala del Museo Egizio, il monumento a Giuseppe Cottolengo, la Sacra di San Michele dalla tomba dei Monaci, la planimetria generale delle località attraversate dalla ferrovia Torino-Genova con le diramazioni da Alessandria al Lago Maggiore e da Trofarello a Savigliano. A lato ed in calce, legenda degli edifici più ragguardevoli, degli stabilimenti principali, delle chiese. Delle figure nel testo, 19 xilografie rappresentano vedute torinesi; segnaliamo, tra tutte, la veduta prospettica del Castello e della città di Moncalieri con, in primo piano, il ponte sul Po attraversato dalla strada ferrata che congiungeva Genova a Torino, inaugurata in quegli anni. Alcune delle carte ripiegate f.t. sono di tabelle, tra l'altro delle tariffe ferroviarie allora in vigore, delle tariffe per i dispacci telegrafici e delle distanze tra i capoluoghi di provincia.
