David Seymour [1911-1956] known as 'Chim', became a photographer when the upheaval in Europe dashed his dreams of studying science at the Sorbonne. He helped to redefine photojournalism with his humanistic coverage of world events. Some of his most powerful images are of refugee children displaced mainly by war.
