Durch das Schreiben sollen die romischen Christinnen und Christen auf die Basis des paulinischen Evangeliums gestellt und somit befahigt werden, dieses Evangelium eigenstandig weiter zu verkundigen, falls der Apostel selbst an der Durchfuhrung seiner Plane gehindert werden sollte.
