Contents include the Dog, Cat, Moose, Wolf, Camel, Elephant, Beaver, Bison, Hyena, Tiger, Leopard, Jaguar.and many more. From the Preface: "In offering the present volume to the public, we are aware that we have been preceded by many others who have written on the same subject; but we are not acquainted with any Work of this kind, in which its author has made it his principal aim to illustrate descriptions taken from the best authorities, by AUTHENTIC AND ORIGINAL ANECDOTES. Our plan, therefore, as already observed, has been, first, to make our young friends fully acquainted with the peculiarities of Domestic Quadrupeds; and, afterwards, those of the chief Foreign Animals, showing the order to which they belong." Condition: The front cover has a couple very light stains at the center, as well as along the top edge; the back cover has a few small, very light stains. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Some very light foxing on the spine. Nice interior - the pages are mostly clean with only some occasional foxing. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
