Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Clean, tight, unmarked; creases to back inside flap of dust jacket; very light wear to edges; otherwise very minimal wear; "As a Canadian fighter pilot, I am told I am among the top dozen most decorated pilots and among the top half-dozen with the most operational flying hours. My expereinces were largely obtained in foreign lands operating within a few miles of the enemy - I took part in three invasions: Sicily, Italy and Normandy - living almost exclusively in tents, always flying the renowned Spitfire. While overseas, I kept a very comprehensive diary, and this information along with the 300 letters I sent Mother, which she saved, provides details and information which are rather unique. I have tried to incorporate many aspects not previously recorded in print. I hope my story will find interest among living Canadian fighter pilots, and their families, and among a whole new generation of younger people who want to know what the war fought in the air was like."
