Endpapers and first few pages at either end of the book with some spotting. A little weak in the spine, but all still soundly bound. Text is generally bright and clean, with clear, high-quality plates that resonate with the human drama of the expedition. Text in English. xxviii + 519pp (including 2 illustrated pages) +(2) Publisher's Advertisements + 17 Plates (including frontispiece). All Plates as called for.
